The scope of PM is mainly administrative to govern resources such as in manpower planning, recruitment, payroll, and performance appraisals. PM concerns itself with compliance to rules, policies and procedures. HRDs function includes all of the above administrative concerns, plus it also involves organizational and HR developmental activities such as, building organizational culture, leadership, and motivation. The HRD approach is to optimize a work-life balance to benefit both the organization and the personnel. At the end of the course, HR professionals will understand and appreciate the significance of the integrated functions of PM and HRD in the organization.
