Metallurgy for Non-Metallurgists

The curriculum will allow participants the opportunity to study ferrous alloys (plain and alloy steels, stainless steels and cast irons) in addition to non-ferrous alloys (for corrosion and high-temperature applications, including titanium-based alloys, cobalt, and nickel). The workshop will elucidate the nature of the cold and hot working of metals and heat treatment, including tempering and case hardening, normalising, and annealing. Also, it will provide a comprehensive and practical overview of essential elements of corrosion and corrosion prevention, along with examples to demonstrate the primary points.
