LTE/EPC System Overview

The LTE SAE from the 3GPP aims to accomplish a high-data-rate, packet-optimised, and low latency system supporting multi-access technologies. Long Term Evolution described in the 3GPP Release 8 standards has defined both a new core network strategy SAE, and an evolved Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) – System Architecture Evolution. The novel core network is an essential element to affect the level of performance that LTE must deliver with the least possible delay throughout the network that has been thus far unattainable with GPRS and UMTS. This technical five-day course explores the primary area of LTE’s (Long Term Evolution) and SAE (Systems Architecture Evolution) known as the evolved core network. The Evolved Packet Core (EPC) is the top part of SAE, otherwise called SAE Core.
