Learners will develop a clear understanding of harmonic recommendation IEEE 519. The course will provide a detailed description of AC drives, PWM and Inverters. The curriculum will rely on practical examples using SOLV software to demonstrate the impact of equipment loading on total harmonic current distortion and harmonic currents. Moreover, during the course attendees will explore harmonics mitigation techniques; hybrid active/passive filters and active front ends, active filters, phase staggering, phase shifting, special reactors passive LC filters, commutation reactors, and reactors. The practical section of this course will cover local site measurements using harmonic measurement equipment.
