Centrifugal Compressor and Steam Turbine

Dynamic axisymmetric work-absorbing turbomachinery has several subclasses, one example of which is centrifugal compressors. Energy moves from a combination of rotating impeller blades to the gas within a centrifugal compressor. Also, it is sometimes known as radial compressors because of the radial flow of the gas; thereby energy is transferred as a byproduct of the change occurring within the centrifugal forces. By studying this course, participants will explore the essential components of the centrifugal compressor and fathom the optimal ways to develop, operate and maintain them.
